Overview of our success story
1933 Wilhelm Heinrichs, employed wholesale merchant in Velbert, recognizes the need for local suppliers for the lock industry in Volmarstein/Ruhr. He becomes self-employed and founds the company Heinrichs + Co. for the production of lock pins.
1939 With its quality, the company quickly makes a good name for itself, and 6 years later, 15 employees are already employed. In World War II, battery cases have to be produced forcibly.
1950 Expansion of product range and acquisition of new customers in the field of screw and standard parts wholesale. The company now has 30 employees.
1961/62 Construction of a branch in Dorweiler/Hunsrück, a hall of 500 m2 for the production of construction hardware turning parts. Advantage over the Volmarstein location: own premises and expansion possibilities. Start of production with 10 local employees.
1964 Acquisition of the first index machines to establish another business segment - the production of screw and sealing plugs.
1969 Complete relocation of the operation to Dorweiler - without production interruption. On several weekends, individual machine groups, the corresponding setters, materials, and employees' private furniture are moved.
1972 The first 6-spindle machines of the Steinhäuser brand are put into operation. The era of mass production begins. Turning parts for hydraulic applications are added. 50 employees are now employed.
1973 Takeover of the management by the sons Jörg and Klaus Heinrichs. Under their leadership, the company grows steadily. Production is expanded to include Schütte multi-spindle automatic lathes.
1980 The first product patent: Development of the "Sealing plug with double sealing edge" for the automotive industry. Entry into the production of parts for diesel injection.
1984 Acquisition of 8 brand new 6-spindle machines from the brand Pittler, expansion with an additional multi-spindle hall.
1988 The world market leader for electric gear motors uses ventilation valves developed by heinrichs drehteile.
1990 The first Guild Master CNC machine is purchased. This marks the beginning of establishing a CNC department for the production of small series and complex parts made from special materials.
2000 Certification according to ISO/TS 16949 as one of the first companies in the industry. The first quality management system according to ISO 9002 was introduced by Hiltrud Heinrichs in 1996.
2003 New construction of the administration and consolidation of further processing in new premises. A total of 9,000 m² of space is now built.
2007 Schütte delivers the 50th multi-spindle automatic lathe. Establishment of the sales office in the USA. Tina Heinrichs leads Heinrichs USA LLC in Hebron, now Erlanger in Kentucky.
2008 Acquisition of the first NC multi-spindle machine from the brand INDEX, the latest technology for manufacturing turning parts from special materials. Construction of the office for production management and R&D.
2009 Expansion of logistics by 1,400 m² for more storage space for customer parts, standard parts, and customer-provided packaging. Certification of environmental management according to ISO 14001:2004.
2010 In memory and recognition of his life's work, founder Wilhelm Heinrichs was honored with a street dedicated at the company's headquarters in Dorweiler
2012 We celebrate "50 years at the Dorweiler location".
2013 Awarding of the Business Medal to Klaus and Jörg Heinrichs by the Minister of Economic Affairs of Rhineland-Palatinate.
2014 Establishment of the company Heinrichs do Brasil in Curitiba, Panama. Robero Koch leads the trading branch, which serves to penetrate the Brazilian market.
2021 Start of expansion work for new employee parking spaces. Launch of a comprehensive ERP implementation project.
2022 Introduction of a new CAQ system. Start of construction of a production hall with 2,500 m². Certification of Heinrichs USA according to ISO 9001:2015.
Today Over 170 employees and trainees. Production of approximately 100 million turned parts for automotive, hydraulic pneumatics, automotive gearbox construction, mechanical engineering. Shipping to more than 35 countries worldwide. The operational management now lies with Kathrin, Dirk, and Florian Heinrichs. Jörg and Klaus Heinrichs are still active.
